Egg Hunt Results
Today Tommy and I arrived at the hospital at 7:30am for our procedure and we were anxious to meet the Dr that was going to preform our retrieval. When we finally did we were very relieved, He was very nice and understood that we were anxious about him being our Dr. He answered all of our questions, and took the time to go into great detail with his answers.
After they did the retrieval he came back in to talk to us, and said that I had 40-50 follicles and the 31 eggs were retrieved. Since I had so many eggs, they my have to delay my cycle and transfer the eggs on day 5 vs day 3. Typically my facility does a day 3 transfer, but he said he would like to give my ovaries more time to "calm down". He also said that most likely I will need to take off Monday, b/c my ovaries had so much stress on them I will probably in more pain than the normal IVF retrieval patient. They are going to call everyday and ask me a series of questions, b/c they are still really concerned about the hyper stimulation. I hope that doesn't happen.
Anyway, I feel good so far, I am taking pain meds every four hours and don't have much pain as long as I don't move around a whole lot. I don't have any nausea or distention so far in my abdomen and don't feel dehydrated either which are the big things that indicate OHSS. So I am praying that I don't have OHSS, so that they will stil transfer the eggs.
I also just want to say that I love this weather....I wish everyday was like today outside.
